People who are into kinky sex may be psychologically healthier than those who are not, says a new study. Researchers found that people who were involved in BDSM — bondage, discipline, sadism and masochism — scored better on certain indicators of mental health than those who did not bring kink into the bedroom, reported LiveScience.

CLAW 2013 from my iPhone’s point of view
Here’s a few photos from CLAW 2013 from my iPhone’s point of view.
CLAW is a very interesting Animal. The sense of Brotherhood and Family you experience at this event is a bit different than IML or MAL because there is *NO CONTEST*. You heard me, NO CONTEST. It’s very relaxed. No rushing to contests. But, also like those 2 events, it’s very much a big Family Reunion. You see a lot of people from different clubs around the world come together and see each other for the first time in perhaps years. And of course, there are the Kink Event Virgins (that was a great T-Shirt), that are very much welcome and leave a bit more confident and accepted regarding their interests in Kink.
I had the pleasure of hanging with a couple of “Virgins” as well as running into FOUR of my Icon Detroit Brothers that I had not seen in many, many years. That was really special to me. They haven’t changed a bit.
The classes are a lot of fun. From Pain Play (Flogging) to the Aphrodisiacs Foods Class which was run by my “Uncle George” (I won’t call him “Daddy” he gets pissy when I say Auntie George 😉 ).
I know the work and sacrifice that goes into organizing a volunteer based Kink Event and I gotta say I am truly impressed how much CLAW has grown. The guys who run CLAW, Dennis and Bob, and their countless obviously appreciated volunteers do an amazing job running a *VERY WELL ORGANIZED* Kink Event.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for an amazing weekend.

Leatherfolk and Festishists, Once again, it is time to gear up and head down to Redwood City and take over the roller rink!
DJ DAMnation will be back to spin all of your Roller Rink Pop favorites. We’ll do our special version of the classic roller rink skatecapades with polyamorous families only, all-bottoms skate, and the hokey pokey. (uh…snowball anyone?)
There are arcade games throughout the place, and a snack bar with pizza, cheesy nachos, candy, and slurpies to make your tongue blue. Alcohol is not permitted in the venue, so all you bad boys and dirty girls will have to guzzle and smoke in the alley behind the joint. Come give the Leather & Fetish dress code your own twisted Rainbow Skate twist.
The place will be mobbed with our kind so there will be no need to be bashful.
Entry is $9 and includes rental of traditional wide-wheel skates or you can bring your own skates or blades. *Feel free to invite anyone and every from the Leatherfolk and Fetish families. The more the merrier, this we surely know.

Hello, If you would like to appear in a documentary about The Hoist please send an email to hoist@ashe-web.com or turn up at the club on Friday 26th April, Saturday 27th April or Sunday 28th April.
What is the documentary about?An American film maker wants to create a documentary about the history of the club. It is not a sex movie but a serious documentary. The aim is to have it premiered in 2014 at the BFI Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Apart from the history of the club it will also be looking into sex in public places and how it’s disappearing/changing because of the internet.

Breaking News: Update on Vendor Market Pass Information!
Leather Market Day Pass
Non-weekend Package holders will need to get a daily wristband to enter the Vendor Market. The Day Pass Registration Area will be on the 5th Floor and adjacent to the Chicago Ballroom Vendor area. Signage and volunteers will be able to direct you. Suggested daily donation is $5 and wristbands are color-coded for each day of IML.
Introduced last year, an all-weekend “Pride Pass” is also available for a donation of at least $10.
“Pride Pass” holders will receive a coded wristband allowing unlimited market entry all weekend with no waiting in line! These passes will also be available in the Day Pass area.
All net proceeds of Day Pass and “Pride Pass” donations benefits The Leather Archives and Museum.
All attendees to IML events must be at least 21 years of age and carry a government issued ID.
