The Chicago Rubbermen’s 2nd Anniversary Party was hugely successful. I’d guesstimate we had well over 50 men in rubber and fetish gear attend our anniversary…. along with many curious folk. RubberWillie did a great job as MC for our event. We had a great deal of great raffle prizes donated by Mr S, Folsom Street Fair, RECON, Cell Block, Jackhammer, GuyznGear and many others. With the assistance of my bud Rubberperv, we raised nearly $400 in raffle ticket sales towards the gay Center on Halsted. There was a representative at the event who spoke to the crowd about the Center’s involvement with Chicago’s homeless gay youth. The majority have been disowned by family for being gay.
I got to meet a couple guys I had been chatting to online such as the very handsome ReadySlaveboy from Recon and a “Brady Quinn” look alike.
Ya know what’s really cool about this group? In my humble opinion, EVERYONE is incredibly friendly, outgoing and inviting to all attending. There were quite a few guys that attended that did not have ANY gear whatsoever. I saw my favorite “GearPigs” start conversation with the shy curious newbies…. even offering the shirt off their back (literally) so that they could try rubber. One guy liked the feel of latex so much, he was encouraged to wear his new friend’s shirt the rest of the night. And did.
Later, the same guy wore our Rubber Bondage Mitts…..
… and then later our Deluxe Rubber Straitjacket.
Another one converted!!! LOL!
Last night was a prime example of why I moved to Chicago. To be more involved in the Leather/Fetish Community. I’m so proud of my club members, the “work” we do… and how much fun we have together. Throughout the night, I was told several times I should run for Mr International Rubber. I’ve always been flattered at the suggestion. But, for the first time, I’m actually considering it.
WOOF
I’m so glad to hear that it was a great success.

I’d sure like to come to an event and be converted like that… Sigh.
That’s great that the night was a big success, Ruff. Wish I had been there….
And way to go on those conversions! Keep up the good work! LOL
