It comes with much sadness to inform you that after 23 years of serving the Detroit LeviLeather community, The Detroit Eagle will be closing it’s doors on Saturday, July 10th for the last time. The ad in this weeks Hott Magazine (The local gay magazine) confirmed the news on June 30th. Attached is the ad.
The Detroit Eagle has had a long history in the leatherlevi community and it’s history stretches farther back than 23 years. As some of you may or may not know, it was previously called “The Interchange” which takes personal credit for many kinky beginnings in the Leather community here in the Detroit and surrounding areas.
Events for the final weekend are as follows and more information can be found on http://www.detroiteagle.com/
July 9th, there will be a “garage sale” to allow people to buy memorabilia and there is LOTS of it. Many things i’m sure the LA&M would love to get thier hands on. (I’ll throw a few hints).
July 10th will be the last day of business and the final party will go till 2am (on the 11th). Previous bartenders, titleholders, family, friends and patrons are encouraged to stop by and celebrate the end of an era and send her out in style.
I send this out in hopes of making the last weekend at The Detroit Eagle an AWESOME one!
Yours in Love & Leather,
John Boslooper

Damn, this is really sad. The Detroit Eagle is where I met my first Leathermen. So much of who I am today directly extends from the good people (in particular, ICON Detroit) there who watched out for me when I was just 21 and exploring the Leather Scene. Sure wish there was more notice. I’m scheduled to work the 10th but doing my damnest to attend one last time.
Cheers to you, Detroit Eagle.
