If you think kink, or think you might like to, what’s better than a weekend of leather, rubber, bootblack or BDSM competitions and demos? Four fetishes wrapped into one for Southeast Black & Blue Weekend, that’s what.

If you’re not content just to watch the “Kink Crusaders” movie (view trailer) on Friday at Out on Film, just say “yes sir!” to events planned for Friday and Saturday at the Atlanta Eagle by the SIR/boy team of Alan Penrod and Pup Nitro (photo, center and right). They are the power couple, if you will, behind several Atlanta BDSM events like Atlanta Leather Pride and Hotlanta Rubber Weekend. This year, they present a bit of a brand new bag, says Penrod.

“We blended the Southeast Leather SIR/boy and Community Bootblack together with Southeast Rubber into one big, fun weekend,” Penrod says.

The rubber meets the road on Friday night with a Meet & Greet featuring some BDSM demos at the Eagle from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m., but “the real fun starts on Saturday,” Penrod says.

The new combo means four titles will be determined on Saturday night: Mr. Southeast Leather SIR, Mr. Southeast Leatherboy, Mr. Southeast Community Bootblack and Mr. Southeast Rubber. Yep, all at the same time. Struts and stuffs are presented and judged at the Eagle from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. with a victory party to follow. Check out the full weekend schedule.

“They all run together so that we can show that we are all connected,” Penrod says. “We all enjoy our fetishes, all enjoy our kinks, and we can all do it together.”

The winners in each contest will receive a travel fund of up to $1,000 to pay for their trip to the international contest, something Atlanta guys are getting used to. Black & Blue Weekend marks the first time that three international title holders from the same bar, the same city and the same year will reign over the festivities. Penrod and Nitro are the reigning Mr. International Leather SIR and boy, and Atlanta’s own GMan (photo, left) is Mr. International Rubber 2011. Of course, they all started with the Southeast titles they’ll be handing down this weekend.

“Atlanta is really being put on the map this year,” Penrod says. “The contests have a really rich history. These are real players’ titles. It gets back to who we are as leather men and leather women. It really focuses on the fun, sex, play side of being leathermen.”

Penrod, who is also a former Mr. Atlanta Eagle, says that Southeast Black & Blue is about so much more than titles.

“We are not about title-holder platforms or politics,” he says. “This is all about the play, the fun and the sex. One of the things I’m most excited about is the Find Your Kink Barbecue & Beer Bust on Saturday [5 p.m. – 8 p.m.],” he says.

“There’ll be little BDSM stations where people can see what it’s like to get tied up or have a harness made for them,” he explains. “They can talk to people who have an expertise in certain kinds of play and see where their interest lies, experiment a little. If you want to try being flogged, or zapped by a stun gun, this is the place for it.”

OK then. What else do we need to know?

“All of it makes for a really good, fun weekend for enthusiasts from all walks. We totally embrace all genders, orientations, races, everything. Absolutely everybody is welcome. It’s about celebrating who you are. Find your sexual rebel, the beat of your own drummer,” Penrod says.
