Chicago Rubbermen Party this Saturday

 It’s about damn time for another rubber event! Join us on Saturday, August 27 at Touche. Located on the city’s northside at 6412 North Clark Street, Chicago (map), it’s got cheap drinks, a big back room, and easy parking. And when we go, we pack the place with rubber. and THIS month, we’re also looking for new ideas for 2012. Every year, we like to host a casual meeting before the party starts for people to bring ideas, offer suggestions for bar venues, special outings, and other outreach ideas. Got a bar night or rubber field trip idea? Or maybe you know of an organization we should know about? Every year we grow and learn a little bit more how to get the word out, raise awareness about rubber, and have fun.  Meeting begins at 10pm. Rubber social fun time starts at 10:30pm. And who knows, maybe a match of lube wrestling will break out… You never know – but we will see you there!

Chicago Rubbermen turn 5

The Chicago Rubbermen are 5 years old! Turns out the appropriate gift to give in year 5 is wood (yes, really). Rubber has given us wood for the past 5 years so it’s our turn to give back. Join us at the Cell Block Chicago on Saturday, July 9 at 10pm for a night of rubber fun and prizes. Cheap drinks: $4.50 call drinks and import beer, $3.50 well drinks.

And for every person who walks through the door wearing rubber, the Chicago Rubbermen will give that person a free raffle ticket and donate $5 to the Center on Halsted up to a total of $500. Imagine you and 99 other rubbered-up sexy bodies for a night…The more of you and your friends who show up, the more we give back! It’s that simple. If you or your friend doesn’t have gear but wants to join the raffle, tickets are only $5. The Chicago Rubbermen will match that in a donation to the Center, too.

Giveaways include:

  • Full weekend package to Mister International Rubber this November in Chicago
  • MIR rubber sleeveless shirt
  • MIR cotton short sleeve t-shirt
  • Original Devil Dawg Rubber black rubber jock
  • Steamworks coupons

Plus, we’ll also be helping recruit potential contestants for Mister Midwest Rubber which will take place on July 15 & 16 at Touche Bar Chicago. Saturday, 30 April: Chicago Rubbermen at Leather Archives & Museum   1-2:30pm

If you cannot make it to Chicago on a Friday night, Taylor Buck’s art will still be on display at the Leather Archives & Museum located at 6418 N Greenview Avenue, Chicago. Join the Chicago Rubbermen on a guided tour of the collection and get to know your fellow rubber mates and enjoy an afternoon of kinky culture. This is a great opportunity for some of you out of towners to make a day trip of it!

Saturday, 30 April: Chicago Rubbermen Invade the Hole (aka JACKHAMMER‘s downstairs bar)

Bar night! Meet us in the Hole for a night of rubbery fun and socializing. Fun starts at 10PM. The Hole is located in the basement of the Jackhammer at 6406 N Clark Street, Chicago. Dress code is enforced in the Hole on weekends so bring your gear! Parking is available in the area. This is our last bar night before IML!

Bar Night and ooh, a daytime event too…
Join us on April 30 for our next bar night at the Hole! (6406 N Clark Street, Chicago) The fun starts at 10pm in the basement bar. Dress code is enforced just the way we like it. We took your suggestions and organized our very first daytime event at the Leather Archives & Museum, located at 6418 N Greenview Avenue in Chicago. Happy 2011 to all – it’s time for our first event of the year! We’ve taken plenty of time off over the holidays, but I hope you’re itching to get geared up and head out for some hot rubbered fun!  Our next bar night will be held at the Cell Block on Saturday, February 5 at 11pm.  To help heat things up we’re having our rubber jock contest!  Interested in showing off your goods?  Good!  Winner gets $100.  So get geared up, head over and join us for some fun.  See you there!

Gear Sale Sellers: Thank you so much!

Greetings, fellow rubber lover!

Thank you for selling with the MIR Gear Sale hosted by the Chicago Rubbermen.

This year was a huge success!  We raised more than $1,200, a good THREE TIMES what we earned last year.  And that’s just what WE collected – We only keep 10% of sales which means you made some serious cash! Thank you again: we couldn’t have done it without you.  You got involved by bringing items for sale, buying some great stuff, donating your items directly to the club, or donating your time.  A special thanks to our gear sale volunteers Greg, André, Rainer, Rob and Rob, Terence, James, and Brian.  You helped make this year’s Mister International Rubber our best year yet!

So, where does the money you raise go?  We use it to keep bringing you great social events and giving back to the community.  You help us donate to local and state GLBT organizations, support Mister Midwest Rubber and Mister International Rubber, and throw some fun parties like our annual anniversary party and International Mister Leather greet the meat cocktail hour!

Thank you again for continuing to support the club and we look forward to seeing you again soon!  Stay tuned in the coming months: we’ve got big plans for 2011!  We’ll keep you updated.

Greetings Chicago Rubbermen:

Mr. International Rubber (MIR) is quickly approaching and we’re eager to get geared up and spread the word!  Join us at THE HOLE at Jackhammer Saturday 23rd at 11pm for some drinks, socializing, and good old fashioned shiny fun!  No agenda, no raffle–just FUN. The Chicago Rubbermen are hosting the MIR Gear Sale again this year.  Anyone who is interested in getting cash for their old gear can talk to Timmy at The Hole that night.  This is not to be confused with Timmy’s hole…

Also, one of our beloved club members, Rubberkai, will not be able to join us at MIR (boo) due to a new job (yay)!  Join us and support him at SIDETRACK for Rubber Showtunes at 7pm on Sunday the 24th!  Because alcoholic slushies, rubber and Glee music were MADE for each other…

Chicago Rubbermen Meeting & Club Night

Location: Touche

Touche is located at 6412 N. Clark Street. (For those of you coming from out of town, you’ll find parking a bit easier up that way.)

Organizational meeting will start at 10:30 p.m. Topics will include Mr. International Rubber (MIR) sponsorship, volunteers, and gear sale. The club night, or beer-fueled gropefest as some like to call it, begins at 11 p.m.! Join us in congratulating one of Chicago Rubbermen’s very own Johnny Switch for winning Mr Midwest Rubber 2010!

Also, the Chicago Hellfire Club annual retreat ended earlier this week and some pigs from around the country are still in Chicago, so stop by and meet some kinky out of towners into rubber!

Chicago Rubbermen 4th Anniversary Party

Once again, some of our extra-energized club members have organized a raffle to benefit The Center on Halsted, Chicago’s LGBT Community Center. The Center has been very supportive of Mr. International Rubber (MIR) over the past few years and this is our way of saying thank you. Last year, the Chicago Rubbermen 3rd anniversary party raised $550 for the Center.

We are still gathering raffle items, but here’s a sneak peek at a few of the organizations who’ve donated prizes so far:

Just a quick reminder that the Chicago Rubbermen’s “GREET THE MEAT” is this Friday during IML.

Also, heads up, the tax & gratuity are *IN* the cost of the hotel’s bar service for many of the events even though they don’t make that known. So, unless your bartender puts on a Gas Mask & Strap On don’t feel like you need to tip for all the events.
