Some photos by Biron taken at what I believe was Dore Alley Fair last year (it was a cold year yet I still got sunburnt) with Master Avery doing his thing for the BOUND IN PUBLIC booth.   A regular at Kink.com, he can also be seen in Bound Gods videos, too.

Seeing these photos gives me a rush as I think back to all the sexy men in Gear and Bondage you see at Kinky Street Fairs like Dore and Folsom.   I’m excited to say I’ll be attending Dore Alley again this year, my favorite of the Street Fairs.   There will be another entry of photos from street fairs sometime next week.

What’s Folsom Street Fair like….?

This sort of sums up Folsom Street Fair. Hot Tatto’d Man in fetish spandex pants and motorcycle boots… standing next to a guy dressed like a … circus performer and a Skinhead on his iPhone. 

I’m really not knocking the event. But, after attending nearly 10 Folsoms over the last 18 years, I have seen it change from being primarily a Gay Kink event… to a an event that is aimed to welcome everyone.  Last year, a friend compared it to a Lady Gaga concert because everyone dresses up in some sort of outfit for the day to let their Freak Flag Fly.  I couldn’t agree more. 


While both street fairs are unique in their own way, if you’re looking for a street fair even that is aimed more so for the Gay Kinksters, I would suggest you attend Dore Alley Fair (aka “Up Your Alley”) in San Francisco over Folsom.

Heads Up Folsom Street Fair attendees…

Well, this sort of sucks.
Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco was recently announced to have a different date than it’s usual end of September.  The new date is…
Sunday, Sept 23rd.  

“Normally, the Folsom Street Fair is held on the last weekend in September. However, in 2012, that weekend is the same as Oracle Open World. We have received word from our partners in the hotel industry that many of the city’s hotels are already completely sold out for that weekend”.

I hope the date change doesn’t affect attendance overall.  It’s certainly not the organizer’s fault.
