Okay, while this is funny… this is also another reason why Folsom Street Fair makes me sad. It used to be a lot like Dore Alley is with tons of gay guys in Fetish gear. But, because there was money to be made off it, it’s become so commercial that the guys who started it are now the butt of jokes.
It’s still a fun event. I go and see lots of west coast friends like “Mikey”, “Fuzzy Taco” and others but, in my humble opinion, in the end it’s not an event you’d go to find other guys into BDSM/Fetish as deeply as I am (and probably most readers of this blog). I find myself hanging out at Mr S Leather to find some of that kind of fun trouble and trying to get on invites to private dungeon parties. Or skipping Folsom all together (as so many hardcore kinksters do) and attending Dore Alley Fair.
To each their own.

I decided *NOT* to go to Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco this year because it’s changed so much from what I remembered it to be.
In recent years, the number of Baby Strollers, Gawking Heterosexuals and now Commercialism is just a big turn off for me. While I was kinda bummed not to get to see Richard, “Fuzzy”, Big James, “Light Beer” Mike and other friends, I’m glad I didn’t go. In fact, the really good photos that I’ve been seeing are of those friends being whores!
That being said, I’m having trouble finding any really good photos to share from Flickr, Google, etc. If you have any, please feel free to email them to me. RFFSTFF1 at YAHOO . COM

My favorite Podcast, Feast of Fools, recently did an interview with Demetri Moshoyannis of Folsom Street Fair that was very funny. I recommend you check it out. They also talk about the history of Folsom Street Fair as it turned 25 this year.
They also talk about “That time at IML when we force feminized Ruff…”. I’m kinda glad that video disappeared. LOL! But, I’m sure it’ll resurface at some point.
