Help Me Decide?

So, I haven’t done any Gear Shopping in about a year…. and I’m being very indecisive about what I should get with the sizable Tax Return I’m getting this year.

What it comes down to is… should I go for the Big Ticket Item that everyone always seems to want (myself included)… a LEATHER SLEEPSACK….

-OR-

Should I go for multiple Wish List items like Steel Bondage, Steel Chastity, New Leather Shirt, Electro Toys, etc? (More Examples HERE)

Which makes things more difficult to decide is that I already have a Latex Sleepsack. Do I really need another in a different material? Plus… could get a Neoprene Sleepsack AND misc gear.

Personally, I think polls on the internet aren’t the most honest. I think many people click a button out of quick impulse without really thinking on a honest answer. I know I have.

Throwing that theory aside, the full article on Leatherati is a fascinating read. Kudos to Leatherati for putting this together. Thank you.

This is one of the responses I got from a Reader. Thank you to “BootBrush” for sharing his thoughts. Very insightful.

That was a difficult question to answer:

i do think that having experienced being a bottom *can* make you a better Top – although it’s not a definite: it depends on who you have sub’d for, what you experienced, and whether you got into the sub mindset. If you don’t enjoy subbing, then it’s just as likely that the experience will only confirm your idea that subs want to be hurt and humiliated – because that’s how the experience would have felt for you…

At the same time – if you’ve never subbed, then you may never understand what a sub feels when he lets go of everything in surrender to You – or how vulnerable that makes a sub feel.

i certainly feel safer playing with a Top who has tried out on Himself what He wants to do on me. But i don’t want Him to assume that because He enjoyed it, therefore i will too. No amount of experience can ever make up for taking things a little slowly and seeing how the scene unfolds…

i voted ‘no’ in the end. But only because it was phrased “I wouldn’t want to *see* my Top bottom“, not because i wouldn’t want to play for a Top who i know had bottomed in the past.

Comment: I’m pretty much an anti-smoking crazy but for whatever reason when I get horny I find a dominant guy smoking a cigar an absolute turn on. When I’m not horny I can’t really say I enjoy the smell or anything but sometimes just smelling it on a hot guy gets me all bothered. What to make of that?

Comment: It’s the oral fixation of the thing that makes smoking sexy.

That said — cigar smoking makes me sick, literally.

Comment: I’m torn with this because I literally saw the life of my Father In Law leave his body when he submitted to Lung Cancer. And my mother is a horrible chain smoker so I more than likely have that to look forward to as well.

Yet, seeing a man in Full Leather smoking a cigar as he approaches with a flogger or more bondage gear to put on me is incredibly hot. – Ruff
