Mr Midwest Rubber Weekend in Chicago
Plans for the 2012 Mr Midwest Rubber Contest are coming together.
We are pleased to announce that no less than three men that bear the title of Mr International Rubber will be joining us for this big contest weekend, July 20-22, 2012.
All the way from Manchester, England, Mr International Rubber 2012, Sly Hands will be with us to serve as a judge for this year’s contest. Joining Sly on the judges panel will be Mr International Rubber 2011, G-Man from Atlanta; Mr Midwest Rubber 2006, Dan-the-Rubberman; Mr Chicago Leather 2012, Angel Velez and our Mr Midwest Rubber 2011, Patrick “Pleep” Pierson. . . And once again we are honored to have Mr International Rubber 2003, RubberWilli come back and serve as our host for this year’s contest.
The winner of Mr Midwest Rubber will represent Chicago and the Midwest at Mr International Rubber 2013 Contest this coming November 2-4. Mr Midwest Rubber 2012 contestant application may be downloaded here.

JULY 14 – Chicago Rubbermen 6th Anniversary Party
We are turning six this year!
Come join us for a night of socializing and shiny rubber at Cell Block Chicago(it’s like we’re regulars now!) on Saturday, July 14 starting at 10:30 PM. We’ll be giving away cash, a gift certificate to Shel-don Leather here in Chicago, Illinois, and some great rubber gear from one of our very own rubbermen from over in Michigan. (Special shout out: Thanks for your donation, Bill!)
**SPECIAL NOTE** If you live out of state, are unavailable on the 14th, or otherwise cannot join us, you can participate, too! Just send us an email to chicagorubbermen@gmail.com beginning with the words “I like rubber because…” and you’ll be entered to win a rubbery prize, too!
Winners of the email drawing will be notified by email.

Our Pride Month bar night is Saturday, June 23 at 11PM at Touché Chicago! Sounds like we’re getting a lot of out-of-towners for the weekend, too. (Here’s a map – on-street parking is pretty easy up that way…) We look forward to seeing you there!

Chicago Rubbermen Meet and Greet at IML
IML is upon us! To help you start it off right, join us at our annual Meet and Greet party at IML. Our event is on Friday, May 25 from 7PM to 9PM in the Acapulco Room at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. There will be a cash bar and your Chicago Rubbermen will be there to lube you up and make you slick and shiny for the fun weekend ahead. We created a Facebook Event Page for it, too. Mister International Rubber is off and running! Check out the MIR booth at IML, visit with the current MIR 2012 Sly Hands, and get more information about the contest weekend and buy your weekend package early. And I bet there will be lots of rubbery eye candy…there always is. Mmm, shiny.

Weekend Packages which include the ‘goody bag’, t-shirt, poster and pass for the vendor market and busses start at $165.

Non-weekend Package holders will need to get a daily wristband to enter the Vendor Market. Day Pass registration is in Columbus Hall, Gold Level at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Suggested daily donation is $5 and wristbands are color-coded for each day of IML.
A full Weekend Market “Pride Pass” is available for a donation of at least $25 and will provide immediate access to the Vendor Market during open hours. “Pride Pass” holders will receive a special wristband, a certificate good for $25 off a Weekend Package for IML 2013 and will be good for free admission to the Leather Archives and Museum thru June 30, 2012. These passes can be purchased in the Vendor Market Day Pass registration area in Columbus Hall.
All net proceeds of Day Pass and “Pride Pass” donations benefits The Leather Archives and Museum.
All attendees to IML events must be at least 21 years of age and carry a government issued ID.

Happy spring to all, now let’s get geared up! Our next bar night is on Saturday, April 21 at Mary’s Attic. That’s right – a new bar to explore! The upstairs bar located at 5400 North Clark Street is a great venue and they are super excited to host us this month! Enter via the purple door next to the restaurant on Clark and climb to the top of the stairs. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! The fun starts at 10:30 PM. (here’s a nifty map)

Our next bar night is on St. Patrick’s Day this year! I’m sure you think of rubber when you think of St. Pat’s Day (clearly) so we’ve added a liquid latex demo to the evening. Come out to Touche (click here for a map) on Saturday, March 17 starting at 10:30 PM for some rubbery fun and see how to paint on liquid latex! We will be treated to the expertise of an out of town guest It’s a fun sight to watch the transformation from unassuming hottie into a slick rubber kinkster, so come on by and watch the fun!
